A goal during the final minute of regulation handed the 19th-ranked Hope College women's soccer team a 1-0 defeat at Kalamazoo on Thursday.

Libby Munoz tucked a shot under the right side of the crossbar with 45 seconds remaining in regulation to end the Flying Dutch's season-opening five-match win streak.

The goal was the first scored against Hope since late in the second half of the September 1 match against Milwaukee School of Engineering — a stretch of 462 minutes.

The Flying Dutch outshot Kalamazoo 12-8. Freshman goalie Jordan Ellingboe of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) made four saves.

Hope's next match is Saturday, September 16 against Calvin. Kickoff is noon at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
