The Hope College football team welcomes Lakeland, Wisconsin to Ray & Sue Smith Stadium for the Purple Community Game benefitting Van Andel Institute on Saturday, September 16. Kickoff is noon.

Flying Dutchmen players will be wearing purple Nike jerseys for the game that is also part of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association - Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Challenge Series.

Purple Community supports Van Andel Institute's biomedical research and science education efforts. Today's game also will help a Hope College student have a summer internship at Van Andel Institute.

Hope enters with a 1-1 overall record, while Lakeland is 1-0.

This is the fifth all-time meeting between the Flying Dutchmen and Muskies. Hope leads 3-1.
