A second-half penalty kick proved the difference for the Hope College men's soccer team in the finale of the Cal Bergsma Memorial Tournament.

The Flying Dutchmen fell 2-1 to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium after a decisive goal with about 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

Junior Christian Dault of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS) even the score by tallying his first goal of the season in the 63rd minute. He pounced on a failed clearing attempt.

Dault, pictured, struck eight minutes after Ohio Wesleyan converted a long run for a Jarrod Ferstl goal.

A Hope foul in the penalty area provided Ohio Wesleyan an opportunity to break a 1-1 tie in the 71st minute. Joe Brush converted his penalty shot.

Both Hope and Ohio Wesleyan finished the season-opening tournament with 1-1 records.
