Goals from seven different players powered the 22nd-ranked Hope College women's soccer team to an 8-0 win at Saint Mary's on Wednesday.

The Flying Dutch moved into a half-game lead in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings after Kalamazoo lost to Albion.

Hope (7-1 overall, 5-1 MIAA) is ahead of second-place Calvin (7-2, 4-1 MIAA) and third-place Kalamazoo (5-3, 4-2 MIAA).

Junior forward Grace Bubin of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford) scored twice to lead the Flying Dutch. Bubin, pictured, has a team-leading six goals on the season.

Bubin opened the scoring 16 minutes, 34 seconds into the first half. She put home a rebound of her own shot to help Hope start toward a 3-0 halftime lead.

The Flying Dutch also received goals in the first half from junior defender Murphy Stadelmeier of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow) off an assist from sophomore midfielder Megan Bigelow of Flushing, Michigan (Flushing) and freshman midfielder Maria Egloff of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Loy Norrix) off an assist from junior defender Eliza Beird of Holland, Michigan (Black River).

In the second half, Bubin started Hope's goal barrage 1:18 into the second half on a double assist from Beird and junior forward Rylie Dalton of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford).

The Flying Dutch then received unassisted goals from senior forward Allie Wittenbach of Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Central), junior forward Rachael Braginton from Grandville, Michigan (Grandville), and freshman midfielder Audrey White of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville), and an assisted goal by sophomore Abbey Przekop of Novi, Michigan (Mercy) from Egloff.
