Men's Soccer Earns Tie At Trine, Stays Tied For Second Place In MIAA

The Hope College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Trine on Wednesday, but remained tied for second place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings.

Sophomore midfielder Isaac Braak of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS) scored for the Flying Dutchmen.

Braak, pictured, evened the score 32 minutes, 10 seconds into the first half off a corner kick. Sophomore Dalton Bruso of Bloomington, Illinois (Normal Community) recorded the assist 5:15 after Trine took a 1-0 lead on a Ben Moricz goal.

Sophomore goalie Blair McCormick of Wadsworth, Illinois (Warren Township) made four saves for the Flying Dutchmen against Trine (3-2-3, 1-2-2 MIAA).

Hope is now 4-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in MIAA play. The Flying Dutchmen are tied for second place with Adrian.

The Hope-Trine match was one of three MIAA matches to finish in a 1-1 draw. Alma at Adrian and Albion at Olivet also were 1-1 ties.
