The Hope College men's tennis team shut out another MIAA opponent on Friday by blanking host Adrian College, 9-0.
The Flying Dutchmen were also victorious over Olivet College with the same score last Thursday. Hope is now 2-0 in the league and 7-6 overall.
At No. 1 singles, senior Mark VanderStoep of Holland (West Ottawa HS) defeated Nathan Waterbury, 6-2, 6-3.
At No. 2 singles, senior Tim Roe of Bakersfield, California (Frontier HS) downed Tanner Wilcox, 6-4, 6-3.
At No. 3 singles, junior Michael Kiley of Muskegon (Mona Shores) dropped only one game to Ronald Ducharme, 6-1, 6-0.
At No. 4 singles, junior Danny Kroeze of Holland (Holland Christian) topped Kyle Haines, 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 5 singles, junior Christian Rhoades of Holland (Holland Christian HS) defeated Cameron Rafinski, 6-4, 6-2.
At No. 6 singles, junior Alec Berrodin of Grand Rapids (Forest Hills Northern) beat Jovanni Wagner-Payne, 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, VanderStoep and Kroeze teamed for an 8-1 victory over Waterbury and Wilcox.
At No. 2 doubles, Roe and Kiley paired for an 8-1 victory against Haines and Ducharme.
At No. 3 doubles, sophomore David Bacon of Grand Rapids (Forest Hills Northern HS) and sophomore Carter Smiley of Minnetonka, Minnesota (Minnetonka HS) defeated Rafinski and Nolan Duda by a score of 8-2.
The Flying Dutchmen's next match is Tuesday, April 9 when they host Calvin College at 4 p.m. at Hope's Etheridge Tennis Complex.
