The Hope College men's tennis team dropped a pair of non-league matches on Friday in Aspen, Ohio.
College of Wooster 5, Hope 2
The Flying Dutchmen won one singles match and one doubles match against Wooster during a 5-2 loss.
At No. 2 singles, senior Danny Kroeze of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS) defeated Wooster's Joaquin Abos Amo, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
At No. 2 doubles, senior Alec Berrodin of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Northern) and freshman Paul Washington of Dearborn, Michigan (Dearborn) topped Wooster's Nivaan Lobo & Austin Hanna, 8-6.
Denison 8, Hope 1
The Flying Dutchmen claimed a victory in one singles match during an 8-1 loss to 27th-ranked Denison University (Ohio).
At No. 4 singles, freshman Tyler Koran of Salinas, California (Salinas) earned a point after Denison's Jacob Dennen retired.
Hope (1-8 overall) next will play on their annual spring break trip that begins on Monday, March 16 with two matches at the United States Tennis Association National Courts in Orlando, Florida.
