A determined Hope College women's basketball team will wait to rest until after an abbreviated season has been completed.

Playing for the second time in 24 hours, the top-ranked and unbeaten Flying Dutch showed no ill effects from a demanding game a day earlier and cruised to an 87-31 victory against Adrian College on Thursday at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Hope sank a fieldhouse-record 14 3-pointers against Adrian en route to its 41st consecutive victory. The two-season run is tied with Wisconsin-Oshkosh (1995-97) for the ninth-longest winning streak in NCAA Division III history.

Head coach Brian Morehouse said his team's offense is clicking right now because players have confidence in themselves, their teammates, and their scheme.

"They know where the pass is going to come from. Our players are better than they were in January of when they attack knowing where the open people should be," Morehouse said. "The open people are sliding to those spots and doing a really good job of having their feet set."

Forward Kate Majerus (Sycamore, Illinois/Sycamore HS), pictured, led the sharpshooting with a 5-of-5 effort from 3-point range and a game-high 15 points.

Majerus buried a 3 on the first possession on Hope's first possession of the game. She helped the Flying Dutch take a 10-0 lead midway through the first quarter.

Eight more Hope players sank 3s during the game. The Flying Dutch shot a season-high 48.3 percent from 3-point range (14-29).

The 14 made 3s surpassed the old fieldhouse record of 13 shared by a February 15, 2014 effort vs. Trine in a 90-40 win and a February 14, 2018 effort against Adrian in an 86-33 victory.

Fifteen players in all scored for Hope, which improved to 12-0 overall this season and 6-0 in MIAA play. Sophomore guard Claire Baguley (Ada, Michigan/Forest Hills Central) also reached double figures with 10 points.

The Flying Dutch delivered a convincing performance despite coming off a hard-fought 63-59 victory at No. 3 Trine on Wednesday.

"Our team is kind of built for back-to-back games. We like Friday-Saturday NCAA Tournament games. We think we prep well in a short window for teams," Morehouse said. "We also think we've got great depth and that allows us to be pretty good in the Friday-Saturday (format). This just happened to be a Wednesday-Thursday."

Hope wraps up the regular season on Saturday, February 27 with a 3 p.m. Senior Day game against Kalamazoo College.
