The Hope College men's tennis team blanked Olivet College on Friday at the Heeringa-VandePoel Stadium Courts, 9-0.
It is the third league victory against zero losses for the Flying Dutchmen who own a 3-5 overall record.
In singles, Hope did not drop a set to the Comets.
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Jacob Burkett of Clarkston, Michigan (Clarkston HS) defeated Olivet's Donald Doyle, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 2 singles, sophomore Cameron Coates of Stevensville, Michigan (Laurel Springs) recorded a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Olivet's Benjamin Morrow.
At No. 3 singles, sophomore Tyler Stafford of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) downed Olivet's Trevor Lewis, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 4 singles, freshman Ezekiel Powell of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores), pictured, beat Olivet's Caleb Graham, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 5 singles, freshman Grant Hylland of Muskegon, Michigan (Mona Shores) earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Olivet's McKalen Jambor.
Hope won by default at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Hope's No. 1 pair of sophomore Paul Washington (Dearborn, Mich./ Dearborn) and sophomore Matt Henkel (Traverse City, Mich. /Traverse City Central), and the No. 2 pair of sophomore Tyler Koran (Salinas, Calif./ Salinas)and sophomore Michael Hoffman (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) each served up victories 0f 8-3 and 8-0, respectively.
Hope won by default at No. 3 doubles.
The Flying Dutchmen plays tomorrow, Saturday, April 11 at home against Augustana (Ill.) College. Match time is 2 p.m.
