Matt Henkel Selected As MIAA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Hope College's Matt Henkel has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The junior business and economics major from Traverse City, MI (Traverse City Central HS) is claiming the honor for the first time this season.

Henkel, who was playing No. 6 singles, outlasted his DII Davenport opponent to win his match in three sets; 6-4, 4-6, 11-7.

In Saturday's matchup with Spring Arbor, Henkel took down his No. 6 singles opponent in two sets; 6-1 and 6-2 to go 2-0 for the weekend.
