Hope College's Maddie Yakes is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.
The goal keeper from Rockford, Michigan is receiving the honor for the first time this season, and second time in her career.
Yakes 25 shots in two games for Hope College this week in their two games.
The sophomore had three saves and saw 17 shots in their big win, 16-14, against Siena Heights on Wednesday. Yakes tallied her first win of the season, led the orange and blue in caused turnovers with four, and also had 6 ground balls for a team-high.
The Rockford HS product saw eight shots and had three saves in the 21-6 win over Carroll (WI) on Saturday and also had one ground ball with two caused turnovers.
