Sophomore Logan DeWitt carded a 4-over-par 76 to lead the Hope College men's golf team on Friday during the first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.
The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 314 to place 13th out of 25 teams.
The 36-hole, two-day tournament at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois, concludes on Saturday, April 2. The final round tees off at 9 a.m. Central.
DeWitt (Zeeland, MIchigan / Holland Christian HS), pictured, is tied for 30th place in the individual standings.
Freshman Jack Guerrera (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) shot a 77.
Hope rounded out its team score with 78s from junior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) and freshman Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll).
Sophomore Will Robson (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) shot an 83 for the Flying Dutchmen.
Junior Seth Almquist (Minneapolis, Minnesota / Wayzata) had an 85.
Illinois Wesleyan leads the field with a team score of 283.
Will Hocker of Webster University (Mo.) holds the individual lead after firing a first-round 71.
