Jack Guerrera bounced back in a big way for the Hope College men's golf team and kept the Flying Dutchmen in the lead at the MIAA's NCAA Division III Championships qualifier.
 The freshman from Northville, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) fired an even-par 71 at Stonewater Country Club in Caledonia during the second round of the 54-hole touranment on Tuesday.
Guerrera, pictured, claimed medalist honors by cutting 12 strokes off his first-round score on Saturday at Wuskowhan Players Club.
Hope finished with a second-place team score of 304, seven strokes behind first-place Trine University.
The Flying Dutchmen take a 12-stroke lead over Trine into the final round on Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at Stonewater Country Club. Hope has a 36-hole total of 600 and is ahead of Trine (612), Calvin University (644), and Adrian College (657).
The team with the lowest 54-hole cumulative score receives the MIAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Championships.
On Tuesday, sophomore Will Robson (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) shot a 75 to place fifth for Hope.
Sophomore Logan DeWitt (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) carded a 78 to tie for seventh.
The Flying Dutchmen also received 80s from junior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) and freshman Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll).
