Senior Tyler Koran (Salinas, California / Salinas HS) and sophomore Justin Fay (Naperville, Illinois / St. Francis) won their second consecutive match at No. 3 doubles for the Hope College men's tennis team in the 7-2 loss to Kalamazoo College on Saturday at the VandePoel-Heeringa Courts.
The Flying Dutchmen's first loss in MIAA conference play places them at 5-1 and 6-12 overall. Kalamazoo improved to 10-6 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
"What I love about this guys team is they are the hardest fighting team that I've ever been apart of, player or coach up to this point, today was just another example of that," said head coach Austin Hunt. "Great battles on the court, but they fought the whole time."
Koran and Fay snagged points for Hope in an 8-4 win over their Hornets opponent.
The orange and blue earned their second point in the match from Koran in the No. 6 singles slot. Koran, pictured right, won with two 6-1 sets over Kalamazoo.
Hope College men's tennis takes on Adrian College at home on Wednesday, April 27 for their final regular season matchup at 4:00 p.m.
