Hope College senior Brant Kym is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Position Athlete of the Week.
The shortstop from Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS) is receiving the honor for the second time this season and the third time in his career.
Kym received this honor after batting .521 through six games with nine RBIs and four runs scored during the Flying Dutchmen's victories against Kalamazoo College, Adrian College and Albion College last week.
During a 15-5 victory against Kalamazoo on Tuesday, Kym went 3-for-5 and recorded four RBIs.
During a 6-4 victory against Adrian on April 20 in the completion of a suspended game, the business and economics major batted 1-for-3 with a hit and a walk. In the following doubleheader against the Bulldogs, Kym went 4-for-7 with two RBIs, two doubles and scored one run in the 6-3 and 8-5 wins.
On Saturday, Kym helped Hope to 17-2 and 9-7 wins at Albion with four hits, four RBIs, and scoring three times.
