With a 9-0 win over Alma College on Saturday, the Hope College men's tennis team improved to 4-11 for the 2022 season.
Three doubles wins for Hope came from Jacob Burkett and Cameron Coates at No. 1 doubles. The pair picked up an 8-0 win before Tyler Koran and John Voss tallied the win at No. 2 doubles with an 8-5 score.
No. 3 doubles partners Tyler Stafford and Matt Henkel took home their win over their Alma opponent 8-4.
Every doubles match earned victories, and the singles matches followed suit. Burkett tallied the win at the No. 1 spot, 6-0 and 6-0, while Coates took home his win with scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
The No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches earned wins of 6-1 and 6-0 and 6-1 and 6-2, respectively, with Stafford at No. 3 and Henkel playing the No. 4 matchup.
Justin Fay and Austin Becksvoort, pictured, completed the sweep of Alma by taking home wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Fay took down his Alma opponent 6-0 and 6-2, while Becksvoort won 6-0 and 6-2.
Hope College returns to the court on Tuesday, April 12, as the Flying Dutchmen host Trine University at 4 p.m.
