Logan DeWitt fired a 3-over-par 74 to lead the Hope College men's golf team during the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday.
The sophomore from Zeeland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS), pictured, helped the Flying Dutchmen card a team score of 312 at Mission Inn Resort and Club's Las Colinas course in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Hope missed the second-round cut by seven strokes and placed 22nd overall with a 36-hole total of 624. On Tuesday, the Flying Dutchmen also shot a 312 at Mission Inn's El Campeon course.
DeWitt is tied for 35th in the individual standings (77-74—151).
Sophomore Will Robson (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) carded a second-round 76 for a two-round total of 153.
Junior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) shot a 79 for a 36-hole score of 159.
Freshman Jack Guerrera (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) finished with an 83 for a two-round total of 161.
Freshman Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) had an 85 for a 36-hole score of 170..
Methodist University (N.C.) seized the overall lead (292-289—581) from Carnegie Mellon University (288-299—587).
Methodist's Henry Angier also grabbed the individual lead (72-69—141) by one stroke over two golfers.
The 72-hole tournament runs through Friday, May 13.
