Women's Soccer Earns Draw at Albion

The Hope College women's soccer team found open net early in the 1-1 draw on the road at Albion College on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch held the lead for the majority of the game after junior Carley Wagasky (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven HS) put one past the net minder in the 24th minute of the MIAA matchup for her sixth goal of the season.

Albion (4-1-8, 1-0-4) evened the score with just 10 minutes remaining in game play to collect the tie.

Hope moved to 6-2-5 overall, and 4-1-1 in league play to remain in second place in the MIAA standings. Calvin sits atop the standings with a 5-0 league record.

Each team put up eight shots on goal, with freshman goalkeeper Clara Feenstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) making seven saves.

Hope returns home to Van Andel Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a showdown with Trinity Christian College (Ill.) at 5 p.m.
