Volleyball Chosen to Host NCAA Regional

The Hope College volleyball team's bid to serve up a second national championship will begin at home. The NCAA has selected the third-ranked Flying Dutch as one of eight regional hosts for this year's Division III Championships. The eight-team, three-day regional runs at DeVos Fieldhouse on Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 16-18.

Thursday's first-round matchups are: Friday's matchups are:  On Saturday, Friday's winners will meet for the regional title at 7 p.m.

All-session tickets cost $20 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and students and $8 for children 3-12. Children under two are free.

Single-day tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and students and $5 for children 3-12. Children under two are free.

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Hope College ticket office, 100 East Eighth Street, or tickets.hope.edu. Tickets can be purchased at the door 1 hour before competition each day.

Hope (27-2 overall) is seeking its first national title since 2014. The Flying Dutch are making their 19th postseason appearance all-time and their 14th in the past 15 years.


Hope earned the MIAA's automatic bid after sweeping league regular-season and tournament titles. The Flying Dutch defeated No. 11 Calvin University in three sets on Saturday at DeVos Fieldhouse in the championship match.

This is the first time Hope has been an NCAA regional host for volleyball since 2009. The Flying Dutch hosted the NCAA national championships in 2013.

The eight regional champions advance to the national quarterfinals on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Claremont, California, hosted by Claremont McKenna and Harvey Mudd-Scripps.
