Volleyball to Face Johns Hopkins in NCAA Quarterfinals

The Hope College volleyball team will face Johns Hopkins University (Maryland) in the national quarterfinals on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the NCAA Division III Championships in Claremont, California, near Los Angeles.

Four quarterfinal matches will be held at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Roberts Pavilion, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pacific, with the four winners advancing to the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 30, which will be at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Pacific.

After a day off on Friday, the two remaining teams will compete for the NCAA Division III national championship on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m. Pacific.

Hope's match is the third quarterfinal of the day and will start around 4:30 p.m. Pacific. All matches will be live-streamed.

All-session or daily tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. In-person sales are cash only. 

One-day tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors (60 and over), and $5 for children (3-12, free for ages 2 and younger). 

All-session passes for all three days are $25, $12 and $8, respectively, and can be purchased through Ticketleap.

Hope (30-2) is seeded fourth, while Johns Hopkins (28-4) from the Centennial Conference is seeded fifth. The tournament was reseeded by the national committee after regional play.

This is the Flying Dutch's fifth appearance overall in the national quarterfinals and the second in a row. Hope previously made it in 2022, 2014, 2013 and 2009 and claimed its first national title in the sport in 2014.

The Hope-Johns Hopkins winner will play the winner of the match between top-seeded University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (37-1) and eighth-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (25-5) from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

On the other side of the bracket, No. 3 seeded New York University (32-4) from the University Athletic Association faces No. 6 seeded University of Northwestern, Minnesota (32-4) from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference at 11:30 a.m. Pacific.

The NYU-Northwestern winner will play the 2:30 p.m. winner of second-seeded Juniata College, Pa. (32-0) from the Landmark Conference and seventh-seeded Trinity University, Texas (31-4) from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
