MIAA Champion Volleyball to Host League Semifinals and Title Match

The Hope College volleyball team is the top seed for the MIAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history.

The fourth-ranked Flying Dutch will host the semifinals and finals on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 10-11, at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for MIAA faculty and staff and non-MIAA students. They can be purchased through the MIAA website. or at the door. 

The six-team tournament begins on Tuesday, Nov. 7, with a pair of 7 p.m. first-round games.

Third-seeded and ninth-ranked Calvin University (21-6) defeated sixth-seeded The University of Olivet in three sets. Fourth-seeded Adrian College (13-11) swept fifth-seeded Trine University.

On Friday at DeVos Fieldhouse, second-seeded Albion (18-10) will face Calvin at 4:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m., Hope (25-2) will meet Adrian.

Friday's winners advance to Saturday's 5 p.m. championship game. The tournament champion receives the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.

All three matches will be live-streamed on the Hope Athletics YouTube account.

Hope is seeking its fifth MIAA Tournament title since the format began in 1999. The Flying Dutch previously won in 2022, 2016, 2010 and 2000.

During the regular season, Hope won all eight league matches. The Flying Dutch clinched the top seed by defeating Adrian College in three sets on Saturday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
