Football Well-Represented on Academic All-District® Football Teams

Four Hope football players pose for portraits.Eight members of the Hope College football team have been selected for the Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Seniors Dylan Clem, Grant Holtzer, Brady Howe, Luke Marsh, Connor Naklizki and Elijah Smith are joined by junior Cole Luhmann and sophomore Micah Bush in receiving the honor.

The CSC Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. 

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Clem, an All-American offensive guard and civil engineering major from Stevensville, Michigan (Lakeshore HS), has been chosen to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. 

First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Holtzer (Okemos, Michigan / Okemos) is a 2023 All-MIAA First Team receiver and a business major.

Howe (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) is a 2021 All-MIAA First Team safety and a special education major.

Marsh (Montague, Michigan / Montague) is a three-time All-MIAA offensive lineman, including a second-team honor this season, and a special education major.

Naklizki (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) is a defensive lineman and a business major.

Smith (Hastings, Michigan / Hastings) is a running back and mechanical engineering major.

Luhmann (Rochester Hills, Michigan / Stoney Creek) is a linebacker and mathematics major.

Bush (Hudsonville, Michigan / Unity Christian) is a linebacker and a business major.
