Men's Tennis Drops Pair of Matches in Ohio

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Hope College men's tennis team fell at No. 2-ranked Case Western Reserve University, 9-0, on Friday and at Oberlin College (Ohio), 7-2, on Saturday.

Against Oberlin, the Flying Dutchmen earned points at No. 1 doubles and No. 6 singles.

At No. 1 doubles, seniors Cameron Coates (Stevensville, Michigan / Laurel Springs HS) and Jacob Burkett (Clarkston, Michigan / Clarkston) defeated Oberlin's James Dill and Grant North, 8-5.

At No. 6 singles, sophomore Austin Becksvoort (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) served up a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Oberlin's James Foster.

The Flying Dutchmen moved to 1-3 on the season after the non-league losses.

Hope's next match is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25. at 5 p.m at the DeWitt Tennis Center against Lawrence Tech University.
