Hope College men's tennis fell to Cornerstone University in their spring season opener on Saturday, 9-0, at DeWitt Tennis Center.
The Flying Dutchmen moved to 1-1 on the season. Cornerstone improved to 2-3.
In No. 1 doubles, seniors
Jacob Burkett (Clarkston, Michigan / Clarkston HS) and
Cameron Coates (Stevensville, Michigan / Laurel Springs) took their match to a tiebreaker, ultimately falling 8-7 (4) to Cornerstone's Andres Jimenez and Santiago Castellanos.
Hope's next match is set for Friday, February 17 at 12 p.m. The Flying Dutchmen travel to second-ranked Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
