Tyler Stafford Named MIAA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Hope College's Tyler Stafford has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS) is receiving the honor for the second time this season and in his career.

On Saturday, Stafford helped the Flying Dutchmen defeat visiting Augustana College (Ill.) by a 5-4 margin at DeWitt Tennis Center during a non-league match.

First, Stafford teamed with fellow senior Matt Henkel for an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Then, Stafford rallied past his Augustana opponent at No. 2 singles for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory.
