The Flying Dutchmen brought home their first sweep of the season on Wednesday, after defeating Alma College 9-0 at the DeWitt Tennis Center.
The win was the fourth of the season, and second in MIAA league play.
A sweep of doubles play began with seniors Jacob Burkett (Clarkston, Michigan / Clarkston HS) and Cameron Coates (Stevensville, Michigan / Laurel Springs), who defeated their Alma opponent 8-1.
Seniors Tyler Stafford (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) and Matt Henkel (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City Central) teamed up for an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 3 doubles, juniors John Voss (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) and Justin Fay (Naperville, Illinois / St. Francis) won 8-2 for Hope.
Burkett topped his opponent in the No. 1 singles spot with two 6-0 set wins.
Stafford earned the win, 6-2 and 6-1, at No. 2 singles over Alma.
No. 3 singles win came from Coates' 6-1 and 6-4 set wins.
Henkel defeated his competition in the No. 4 singles spot in two sets, 6-3 and 6-0.
No. 5 singles saw a win from Fay, winning his match with 6-3 and 7-5 set victories.
Sophomore Austin Becksvoort (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) finished Hope's scoring in No. 6 singles play with 6-2 and 6-1 wins.
The Flying Dutchmen take the court next against Calvin University as they host the Knights on Tuesday, April 4, at 4 p.m. at DeWitt Tennis Center.
