Men's Tennis to Face Calvin In MIAA Tournament Semifinals

The Hope College men's tennis team opens its bid for an MIAA Tournament title at home on Thursday, April 27, at 4 p.m. against Calvin University.

The match will be played either indoors at DeWitt Tennis Center or outdoors at Vande Poel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.

The Flying Dutchmen hold the second seed after placing runner-up in the regular-season standings to Kalamazoo College with a 5-1 league record.

Hope (7-9 overall) will meet the third-seeded Knights, who posted a 4-2 record in MIAA matches this season.

The Flying Dutchmen won the regular-season match this season, 8-1, on April 4 at Hope.

All-time, Hope is 41-12 against Calvin, including a 4-5 record in MIAA Tournament matches. The Flying Dutchmen have a three-game winning streak against the Knights in postseason play.

Thursday's winner will advance to face either top-seeded Kalamazoo or fourth-seeded Trine University in the championship match on Saturday, April 29. The higher remaining seed will host. 

Hope is seeking its second MIAA Tournament championship and first since 2018.
