Two Chosen As MIAA Athlete of the Week

Two Hope College student-athletes have been selected as Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Athletes of the Week: men's lacrosse's Michael Mann, and women's tennis' Annika Weeber

Weeber (Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) is the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the first time in her Flying Dutch career. 

The junior earned wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 3 singles in matches against Alma College and Saint Mary's College. 

Weeber, an exercise science major, helped the Flying Dutch stay unbeaten in MIAA league play with the 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles against Alma College in the 9-0 team win with partner junior Delanie Riebschleger, and took down her opponent at No. 3 singles with 6-2 and 6-0 wins. 

Weeber collected an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles and 6-2 and 6-4 wins at No. 3 singles in the 7-2 victory over Saint Mary's College. 

Mann (Plymouth, Michigan / University of Detroit-Jesuit) is the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for the third time in his Hope career, and second of the season. 

The junior public accounting major recorded nine goals in two victories for the Flying Dutchmen during a 17-8 win over Illinois Institute of Technology and an 18-10 victory over Southwestern University.
