Women's Basketball Claims Special Mention Academic Distinction from WBCA

The Hope College women's basketball team has been honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for academic excellence as a special mention on the Division III WBCA Team Honor Roll.

Led by head coach Brian Morehouse, the Flying Dutch recorded a 3.559 grade point average while claiming a share of a fourth consecutive MIAA regular-season championship and fourth consecutive MIAA Tournament title.

Hope finished with a 26-3 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Flying Dutch are one of 114 Division III women's basketball programs to be recognized for their achievements in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year.

The teams with the top 25 cumulative grade point averages at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels along with NAIA and two-year college programs garnered special Top 25 Team honors.

All remaining teams with a 3.0 team GPA or higher received special mention distinction.
