The Hope College women's golf team finished the second MIAA Jamboree of the season tied for 5th after shooting a team score of 333 at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Â
Senior Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer HS) finished at the top of the pack of MIAA women's golfers, shooting a 75 to finish tied for the top spot with Adrian College's Olivia Ohmer. Fansler earned medalist honors for her 3-over-par performance.Â
The MIAA champion will be determined by a new format this year. There are four 18-hole rounds this fall and two 18-hole rounds in the spring. The lowest cumulative total after 108 holes received the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championships.
Adrian was the top dog shooting a team score of 309 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs finished seven strokes ahead of Calvin University in second place.Â
Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) and freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) each shot an 84 for Hope.Â
Sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) carded an 86.Â
Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) chipped a score of 88, and junior Sarah Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte) recorded a 90 for the Flying Dutch.Â
Hope hits the links again on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. for the third MIAA Jamboree at Milham Park Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
