Hope College will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the women's volleyball team's national championship on Friday, Oct. 25, at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The 2014 team will be honored after the second set of the One Big Weekend match against Calvin University.
Led by head coach Becky Schmidt, Hope claimed the third team NCAA Division III national championship in school history and the first in program history in 2014.
The Flying Dutch's 34-2 season was capped by a five-set victory against Emory University (Georgia) in the national final at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. Hope also defeated fellow MIAA co-champion Calvin in three sets in the national semifinals that season.
Two Flying Dutch received American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors in 2024: outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer and setter Lauren Hazekamp.
Outside hitter Amy VanderStoep joined Grasmeyer and Hazekamp on the All-MIAA First Team.
Anna Lynch, Allie Mitchell were All-MIAA Second Team selections.
The college's previous NCAA Division III national championships were in 1990 and 2006 in women's basketball, which also won the fourth national championship in school history in 2022.
