Men's Soccer to Host Calvin in MIAA Tournament Semifinal on Nov. 5

The MIAA co-champion Hope College men's soccer team will host Calvin University in the MIAA Tournament semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

The second-seeded and 16th-ranked Flying Dutchmen will face the third-seeded Knights after Calvin edged sixth-seeded Kalamazoo College, 2-1, in Saturday's quarterfinals.

Hope (13-1-3) played to a 1-1 draw at Calvin in the MIAA opener on Oct. 9 in Grand Rapids.

Tuesday's other semifinal features fourth-seeded Albion College at top-seeded and MIAA co-champion Trine University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Albion beat fifth-seeded Adrian College, 2-0, on Saturday.

The MIAA Tournament final will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 9, at a time to be determined.

The MIAA Tournament champion receives the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.

The Flying Dutchmen is seeking a fourth MIAA Tournament title. The Flying Dutchmen previously won during the 2021 spring season and the 2013 and 2011 fall seasons.


Tickets for the MIAA Tournament can be purchased either in advance online or at the door. They are $8 for adults and $5 for MIAA faculty and staff, and non-MIAA students. Cash and credit cards are accepted. MIAA students and children under five are admitted free.
