Olivia Bellows Named MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

Hope College guard Olivia Bellows has been selected as the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Lake City, Michigan (Lake City HS) is receiving the honor for the first time this season and the second time in her career.

Bellows helped the nationally-ranked Flying Dutch win two non-league games last week by averaging 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists.

The elementary education major also shot 52.6% from the field (10-19), 60% from 3 (3-5) and 75% from the free-throw line (9-12) during 40 minutes on the court.

On Saturday, Bellows scored a career-high 23 points during Hope's 72-53 victory against the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

On Nov. 26, Bellows chipped in nine points during a 68-65 victory against the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
