Three Earn MIAA Weekly Lacrosse Awards

Three members of Hope College lacrosse teams have been named MIAA Athletes of the Week: Caden Brainard, Juli Kirkpatrick and Caleigh Randall.

Brainard (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer HS) is the MIAA Men's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week for the second time this season and is an MIAA weekly award recipient for the third time in his career.

The junior mechanical engineering major went a perfect 22-of-22 on faceoffs during a 20-7 victory against Illinois Tech on Wednesday, March 27, at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Brainard also scored one goal and recorded 14 ground balls.

Kirkpatrick (Granger, Indiana / Penn) is the MIAA Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

The junior attacker and exercise science major totaled four goals and three assists combined during a 17-9 victory at Aurora University (Ill.) on Wednesday, March 27, and a 25-8 loss at home on Saturday, March 30, to the University of Chicago, which advanced to the second round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Randall (Lansing, Michigan / DeWitt) is the MIAA Women's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week for the second time this season and in her career.

The sophomore midfielder and elementary education major recorded 16 draw-control wins against Aurora and Chicago, including a game-high 11 at Aurora. Randall also chipped in two goals and two assists against Aurora.
