Hope College Athletics Claims 40th MIAA Commissioner's Cup All-Sports Award

Through nine months of diligent hard work and across-the-board successes, Hope College Athletics has claimed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup for the fourth consecutive academic year.

Hope also earned the MIAA's all-sports trophy for a league-record 40th time.

The MIAA Commissioner's Cup award is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in 18 of the league's sports for men and women.

Hope topped the final Commissioner's Cup update with 144.5 points during the 2023-24 academic year.

Calvin University placed second in the final standings with 140.5 points. Trine University took third with 129 points and followed by Albion College with 110, Adrian College with 97, Kalamazoo College with 91, Alma College with 84.5, The University of Olivet with 63 and Saint Mary's College with 32.5.

Hope captured nine outright MIAA regular-season titles during the school year: men's and women's lacrosse, women's indoor and outdoor track and field, women's basketball, men's golf, women's swimming and diving, women's tennis, and women's volleyball. Hope also tied for the women's cross country championship.

Overall, Hope placed in the top three of the MIAA standings in 20 different sports.

Hope topped the MIAA women's all-sport standings with 79.5 points — 9.5 more than Calvin, which had the second-most points.

In the men's all-sports standings, Hope scored 65 points and trailed Calvin (70.5) and Trine (69.5).
