Football Places Second in MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll

The Hope College football team is projected to be an MIAA title contender this fall.

The Flying Dutchmen placed second in the 2024 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll after receiving one first-place vote and totaling 13 points. 

Coaches could not vote for their team. Alma College topped the poll with seven first-place votes and seven points. 

Hope finished ahead of third-place Trine University (20 points), fourth-place Albion College (25), fifth-place The University of Olivet (33), sixth-place Adrian College (35), seventh-place Kalamazoo College (42), and eighth-place Calvin University (49).

The Flying Dutchmen, led by head coach Peter Stuursma and D3football.com Preseason All-America offensive lineman Dylan Clem, reported to campus for fall camp on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Hope kicks off the 2024 season on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m. at home at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium against Loras College (Iowa).
