Jada Garner Named MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

Hope College guard Jada Garner has been chosen as the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

The senior is receiving the honor for the first time this season and the third time in her career.

Garner (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow HS) scored a season-high and game-high 19 points for the nationally-ranked Flying Dutch during Saturday's 72-64 victory at Calvin University.

In 26 minutes played, Garner shot 60% from the field (6-of-10) and 100% from the free-throw line (6-6).

An exercise science major, Garner also recorded two rebounds, one assist and one steal against the Knights.

The victory was Hope's 19th consecutive against Calvin, the team's longest streak in The Rivalry.
