The 12th-ranked Hope College volleyball team aced the rematch of last year's NCAA Division III Tournament regional final.
The Flying Dutch tied their season high with 14 service aces during a four-set victory against Millikin University (Illinois) on Friday night at DeVos Fieldhouse's DeVette-Van Wieren Court.
Hope (15-4) also recorded 14 aces during a three-set victory against the University of California-Santa Cruz on Sept. 19 at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
The 25-23, 25-21, 27-29, 25-20 victory over Millikin (8-9) extended the Flying Dutch's winning streak to 11 matches and opened a three-match weekend.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, Hope will face Coe College (Iowa) at 11 a.m. and eighth-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 1:30 p.m. Eau Claire topped Coe in four sets on Friday at DeVos Fieldhouse's DeYoung Volleyball Court.
Tickets can be purchased online through the Hope College Ticket Office or at the door beginning at 10 a.m.
Six different Orange and Blue servers recorded at least one ace. Senior
Tess Herendeen (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Homestead), junior
Kathryn Oates (Liberty Township, Ohio / Cincinnati Christian) and freshman
Kiera Morrison (Bartlett, Illinois / Wheaton Academy) shared match-high honors with three apiece.
Morrison also tied for the match high in kills with two teammates. Seniors
Ella Contant (Elmhurst, Illinois / York Community) and
Brooke Fox (Saunemin, Illinois / Pontiac Township) also totaled 13 kills.
Senior
Lauren Lee (Plymouth, Michigan / Skyline) finished with 47 assists, two shy of her season high.
Oates also collected 26 digs, one off her season best.
