Football Rises in Latest National Rankings

The Hope College football team might have enjoyed a bye week, but still moved up in the national rankings despite not playing.

The idle Flying Dutchmen rose two spots in this week's American Football Coaches Association poll to 18th.

Hope also inched ahead one spot to 19th in the D3football Week 6 rankings.

The Flying Dutchmen are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. when they host Kalamazoo College at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium as part of the One Big Weekend homecoming and family celebration.

Single-game tickets and fall family passes can be purchased through the Hope College Ticket Office online, or weekdays during regular business hours by phone at (616) 395-7890 or in person at 100 E. 8th Street.

Hope enters the Wooden Shoes Rivalry with Kalamazoo with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in MIAA play.

Kalamazoo is 3-2 overall and 0-2 against MIAA opponents.

Hope leads the all-time series, 62-35-6, and has won the last eight games. This is the first time Hope has hosted the Horents since a 66-20 victory in 2022.
