Parking Instructions Offered for One Big Weekend Football Game, 5K Run

Hope College fans are encouraged to allow extra time for parking for the One Big Weekend football game on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium.

The reserved tailgate lot (Lot 75) is sold out and will open at 10 a.m. this week because of the 2 p.m. kickoff for the Flying Dutchmen's game against Kalamazoo College.

This week only, individuals with a tailgate pass must enter the tailgate lot from 16th Street, located by the cemetery.

In the morning, a sold-out Donut Run 5K will take place at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium beginning at 9 a.m. Runners will start and finish inside the stadium.

To keep participants safe, Soren Wolf Way — the driveway normally used to enter the tailgate lot from Fairbanks Avenue — will be closed until 11 a.m. Donut Run participants should park at DeVos Fieldhouse or on the streets. Shuttles for participants from DeVos Fieldhouse to Smith Stadium will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The Smallenburg Park grass lot off Soren Wolf Way will also remain closed until 11 a.m.
