Football Rises in D3football and AFCA Polls

The Hope College football team moved up in both national polls this week.

The Flying Dutchmen rose three spots to No. 16 in the D3football.com Week 8 rankings after Saturday's 19-17 victory at previously unbeaten and 25th-ranked Adrian College, totaling 208 points.


In the American Football Coaches Association poll, presented by hudl, Hope climbed one spot to No. 17 with 463 points.


North Central College (Illinois) remained No. 1 in both rankings.


The D3football.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country and is published weekly. The AFCA poll features 52 voters.


Hope's next game is Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Albion College.


The Flying Dutchmen own a 6-1 overall record, including a 3-1 mark in MIAA play.
