Top-Seeded Men's Soccer Kicks Off MIAA Tournament at home vs. Adrian

The MIAA regular-season champion Hope College men's soccer team is aiming to claim another piece of hardware this week.

The Flying Dutchmen begin their quest for an MIAA Tournament crown on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. in the semifinals against fourth-seeded Adrian College at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Tickets can be purchased through the MIAA website or at the gate beginning at 5 p.m.

Hope (10-5-2) earned the top seed for the league tournament after going 6-0-1 in MIAA matches during the regular season. The Flying Dutchmen captured their first outright league championship since 2006 after sharing the title in 2024.

Adrian (6-12-1) defeated fifth-seeded Kalamazoo, 2-1, in Saturday's quarterfinals at Adrian.

Hope blanked Adrian, 2-0, during their regular-season match on Oct. 25 at Adrian. Senior Matthew Davidson (Grand Ledge, Michigan / Grand Ledge) and freshman Jack Lowman (Novi, Michigan / Northville) scored for the Flying Dutchmen. The Bulldogs did not record a shot on goal.

This is the third time Hope has faced Adrian in the MIAA Tournament. The Flying Dutchmen won, 3-0, in the 2021 spring quarterfinals and lost, 2-1, in the 2017 semifinals.

Hope is 10-7-2 in MIAA Tournament play, including 5-5 in semifinal matches.
