Football Moves Up in AFCA Poll, Holds Steady in D3Football Rankings

The Hope College football team rose one spot to No. 16 in this week's American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll and remained No. 16 in the D3football.com rankings.

The 7-1 Flying Dutchmen are coming off a 62-0 victory at Albion College on Saturday, which extended their winning streak to four games and improved their MIAA record to 4-1.


Hope allowed only 81 yards of total offense and 13 rushing yards to the Britons.


This week, the Flying Dutchmen host Calvin University in the first of two home games to close the regular season.


Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium for the second game in The Rivalry and the first played on the Hope campus.


The Flying Dutchmen are seeking their second win against Calvin after claiming the inaugural game, 38-7, at Grand Rapids Christian High School last season.


Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Hope College Ticket Office online or on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. by phone at (616) 395-7890 or in person at 100 East 8th St. Tickets also will be available at the gate on Saturday.
