Hope College women's tennis coach Austin Hunt has been chosen as the 2025 MIAA Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.
In his fourth season, Hunt guided the nationally-ranked Flying Dutch to a sweep of MIAA regular-season and tournament titles for the second consecutive season.Â
The regular-season championship was the 30th in program history. The tournament crown was Hope's 13th in a row and the 14th overall since the current head-to-head format began in 2007.
Hunt coached three 2025 All-MIAA First Team recipients, including junior
Amanda Lopykinski, who was named MIAA Most Valuable Player in back-to-back seasons. Seniors
Sullivan Moran and
Miyako Coffey were also honored.
The Flying Dutch defeated 10 MIAA opponents this season, including eight in the regular season and two during the MIAA Tournament.
Hope finished with a 19-7 overall record after reaching the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
"I'd like to thank my peers in the MIAA for awarding me this honor," Hunt said. "I'd also like to thank my athletic administration for backing me throughout my time at Hope and helping me build these programs up. Lastly, I'd like to thank my players who, without their work and dedication, I most certainly wouldn't be in the position that I am."
