Placekicker Caden Balkon Sets Football's Career PAT Record

Senior placekicker Caden Balkon set the Hope College Football career point after touchdown record during Saturday's 62-0 season-opening victory at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Balkon (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) reached 112 PATs in 22 games after making 8-of-9 attempts for the nationally-ranked Flying Dutchmen against the Duhawks.

Nate Barnett '16 held the previous record with 111 over four seasons between 2002-05.

Balkon has been Hope's placekicker since the 2023 season. The political science major previously totaled 37 PATs in 2023 and a school-record 67 last season.

The Flying Dutchmen's next game is Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at Franklin College (Ind.).

Hope's home opener is Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. against Mount St. Joseph University (Ohio) at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium. The game is part of the Hope Athletics Orange and Blue Weekend on campus.
