Football Rises to Eighth in AFCA Poll

The Hope College football team gained another spot in this week's American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, rising to a program-best eighth in this week's rankings.

The unbeaten Flying Dutch also held onto the ninth spot in this week's D3football.com poll.

Hope will bring an 8-0 overall record and a 5-0 mark in MIAA play heading into this weekend's showdown in The Rivalry.

Calvin (8-0, 5-0 MIAA) is ranked 20th by AFCA and 25th by D3football. Wheaton

The Flying Dutch led the fledgling series against Calvin, 2-0, with wins of 52-0 last season at Hope and 38-7 at Grand Rapids Christian High Schoo in 2024.

Kickoff is Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at Calvin. The game is expected to be a sellout. The winner clinches at least a share of the MIAA championship and the league's automatic berth to the Division III playoffs.

The game will be broadcast on WXSP, the Calvin Knights YouTube accounts and Michigan Sports Radio.
