Baseball Places Fifth in MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll

The Hope College baseball team placed fifth in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Flying Dutchmen totaled 27 points in the poll, finishing behind Adrian College (48), Kalamazoo College (43), Alma College (35), and Calvin University (30). Hope placed ahead of Albion College (20), Trine University (12), and The University of Olivet (9).


Hope returns All-MIAA honoree in outfielder Corbin Bennetts, a second–team selection during the 2025 season.


Bennetts (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) made an immediate impact as a freshman, leading the team with a .325 batting average in MIAA play. He totaled 26 hits in 20 conference games, including seven
doubles and one triple, while scoring 12 runs and driving in seven.


Head coach Ryan Dorow enters his second season leading the Flying Dutchmen. Additional returners include senior outfielders Brenden Collins (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Hackett Catholic) and Jace DeMann (Byron Center, Michigan / South Christian), and senior first baseman Cade Seabaugh (Ballwin, Missouri / Ladue Horton).


Hope opens the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 20, at 4 p.m. against Heidelberg University in Westfield, Indiana.
