Men's Basketball to Face Calvin in MIAA Tournament Semifinals at Olivet

Tipoff is Friday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m.

For the seventh time in The Rivalry's storied history, the Hope College and Calvin University men's basketball teams will meet on a neutral court.

The Flying Dutchmen and Knights will square off in postseason play on Friday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m. at The University of Olivet during the MIAA Men's Basketball Tournament presented by Collegiate Credit Union.

The Hope-Calvin semifinal winner advances to face either Olivet or Trine University in the MIAA Tournament championship game on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's winner claims the league's berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the MIAA website or at the door while supplies last.

The second-seeded Flying Dutchmen earned a first-round bye and own a 16-9 overall record. Third-seeded Calvin (18-7) defeated sixth-seeded Adrian College, 105-63, in quarterfinal action on Tuesday.

Hope leads the all-time series, 111-107. Calvin won both regular-season meetings this season, including the regular-season finale on Saturday at Van Noord Arena.

The teams are tied at 3-3 when the game is played on a neutral floor. The most recent neutral floor game occurred in 2024 when the Flying Dutchmen defeated Calvin, 83-68, in the MIAA Tournament semifinals at Trine.

Hope and Calvin have met 22 times in the MIAA Tournament since the postseason format began in 1992. The Flying Dutchmen have won 13 of those meetings, including three in six semifinal matchups.
