Maddie Petroelje, Anna Richards and Leah Richards Earn All-MIAA Women's Basketball Accolades

Three Hope College women's basketball sophomores have been chosen for the 2025-26 All-MIAA Women's Basketball Teams: forwards Maddie Petroelje and Leah Richards, and guard Anna Richards.

Petroelje (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) and Anna Richards (DeWitt, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) both made the six-player All-MIAA First Team.

Leah Richards (DeWitt, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) is one of the six second-team selections.

This is the second All-MIAA honors for Anna Richards; she was a second-team selection last season as a freshman.

Petroelje is having a breakthrough season, averaging career-bests in points per game at 11.5, field-goal percentage at 49.0 and 3-point shooting at 46.3%.

The 6-1 Petroelje recorded a career-high 27 points and career-high six 3-pointers (twice) this season.

Anna Richards has elevated her production during her sophomore season, averaging a career-best 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 25 games.

The 6-0 Richards scored a season-high 18 points during an 88-46 victory against Adrian College on Jan. 31 at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Leah Richards also has excelled, setting career-bests in points at 11.2 per game, rebounds at 7.4 and 48.7 field-goal percentage.

The 6-2 Richards netted a career-high 21 points on Nov. 7 on the road vs. the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a career-best 18 rebounds at home vs. Hardin-Simmons University (Texas) on Feb. 11 at DeVos Fieldhouse.
