The Hope College men's lacrosse team used a 11 different point earners and a dominant opening half to earn a 12–9 victory at Lake Forest College (Illinois) on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen moved to 2-0 on the season.
Hope built its advantage early, striking for six first-quarter goals and carrying a 10-4 lead into halftime. The Orange and Blue dictated the tempo throughout the opening 30 minutes, outshooting Lake Forest 34-9.
In the end, 11 different Flying Dutchmen recorded goals or assists, a reflection of the depth, pace, and unselfish play that defined Hope's first road victory of the season.
Lake Forest responded with energy in the second half, gradually trimming the deficit and pulling within three early in the fourth quarter. A composed man-up finish from junior Gibson Heethuis restored momentum, and an unassisted strike from Logan Voss provided the final separation.

Freshman Jackson Vasquez (Lake Orion, Michigan / Lake Orion) scored twice, including the game's opening goal at 11:39 of the first quarter.
Sophomore Preston Hoexum (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern) added one goal and one assist while firing a team-high 10 shots.
Ssophomore Jack Zuiderveen (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville), senior Jack McNamara (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Central), senior Liam Belote (Saline, Michigan / Saline), sophomore Luke O'Connell (Colorado Springs, Colorado / Discovery Canyon Campus), freshman Luke Darnell (Clarkston, Michigan / Clarkston), senior Andon Rieger (Elmhurst, Illinois / York), freshman Jackson Arnold (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Eastern), and freshman Logan Voss (Charlotte, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) all scored once.
Goalies senior Jack Balmforth (Livonia, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) and sophomore Ridge Boehmer (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) combined for seven saves, with Boehmer stopping five shots in the fourth quarter to help close out the win.
Hope welcomes Carthage College (Wisconsin) to home turf on Friday, March 6 at, at 4 p.m. Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
